One-on-one tuition in a 3 hour lesson with Phillip England, the artist behind Tasmanian Tintype.
You will learn all aspects of producing a wetplate collodion tintype: preparing the plate, setting up the camera, lighting the subject, developing the tintype and varnishing the finished product.
I will make a 5x4 inch tintype portrait of you as part of the demonstration and you will make one or more still life tintypes yourself.
Small group tuition in a 3 hour class with Phillip England, the artist behind Tasmanian Tintype. I have been shooting film and using photographic darkrooms since the 1970s.
No prior photography experience is required.
Wander around the famous, bustling Salamanca Place with one of the supplied fully manual 35mm film cameras, learn how to operate the camera, identify interesting compositions & properly expose a 35mm black & white film.
Then head to my Salamanca Arts Centre studio darkroom where you will develop your own film and learn about ways to scan it.
Camera supplied for the session & black and white film and chemicals inclusive.
Daunted by the high setup cost of large format photography?
Spend 3 hours finding your way around and using a large format camera in my studio and around Salamanca Place then develop your black and white sheet films.
